GreenView offers a low-cost, scalable AI-driven monitoring system for greenhouses, using RGB webcams and CNNs to analyze plant health in real-time. This technology enhances greenhouse management by providing data-driven insights through an easy-to-use dashboard.
GreenView is an innovative AI-driven system designed to transform greenhouse management through the continuous monitoring of plant health, growth status, and space occupancy. Utilizing three RGB webcams in conjunction with Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), GreenView provides a low-cost, scalable solution for real-time data analysis. This system enables precise, data-driven decisions, allowing greenhouse managers to prioritize critical areas and respond to alerts promptly. By aligning with sustainability and efficiency goals, GreenView enhances the overall productivity and management of greenhouse environments.
Currently, GreenView is at Technology Readiness Level 3. The system is in the development phase, with pilot studies planned in collaboration with Texas A&M’s phenotyping greenhouse. These studies will focus on refining the accuracy and usability of the system, setting the stage for full-scale deployment in various greenhouse settings.
Texas A&M University in College Station is a comprehensive public research university and the flagship of The Texas A&M University System, combining broad academic strengths with a strong applied‑research culture. Industry collaborates on the Texas A&M‑RELLIS campus—an integrated education, research and testing environment that supports large‑scale experimentation and proving grounds—and through the Texas A&M Transportation Institute’s facilities in Bryan‑College Station. A statewide extension network connects university expertise to companies and communities across all Texas counties, enabling rapid piloting and deployment. Research is supported by competitive federal funding from agencies such as NSF, NIH, DOE, USDA and DoD, alongside state and industry sponsorship. Texas A&M Innovation provides IP management, licensing and commercialization pathways across the system.
