Innovative nanoparticles enhance the hydrophobicity of polyolefin membranes, improving dust and moisture resistance. This solution offers a simple spray application method for creating durable, water-repellent surfaces, extending membrane lifespan.
This innovative technology leverages hydrophobic ultrasmall nanoparticles to significantly enhance the surface properties of polyolefin membranes such as polyethylene and polypropylene. By applying these nanoparticles through a straightforward spray coating process during manufacturing, the membranes achieve superior dust and moisture resistance, effectively extending their lifespan. The nanoparticles are specially designed with coupling groups that facilitate interaction with polyolefins or allow for integration directly into the polymer chain, creating a durable and water-repellent surface.
Key features:
This technology is currently at Technology Readiness Level 2, indicating that concept and application have been formulated. Future plans include further validation through partnerships to provide coating tests and collaborate on new formulations, aiming to demonstrate a dust-repellent membrane capable of maintaining a clear appearance for at least one year without cleaning.
