DM-AirTech is developing a Climate Intelligence platform based on hyper-local weather forecasting, atmospheric modelling and operational weather intelligence.

The platform combines high-resolution weather analytics, environmental data and field monitoring to support decision making in agriculture and other weather-sensitive sectors.

Unlike conventional forecasting products, the approach focuses on local atmospheric dynamics that are often difficult to represent at operational scale, including terrain-driven effects, wind variability, microclimates and low-altitude weather conditions. The objective is not only to forecast weather conditions, but also to support the assessment of operational, economic and climate-related impacts on weather-sensitive activities.

Weather variability and extreme weather events can generate significant impacts across agricultural production systems, including crop damage, production losses, operational delays, additional labour requirements, inefficient use of water and treatments, increased fuel consumption, weather-related losses and reduced operational efficiency.

The platform combines atmospheric modelling, weather forecasting, environmental monitoring and site-specific information to generate operational weather intelligence. Weather analytics are integrated with environmental observations and operational data to support decision-making, weather-risk assessment and impact evaluation.

Potential applications include agricultural planning, resource management, irrigation support, weather-risk monitoring, climate resilience assessment, operational optimisation, sustainability monitoring, support for agricultural insurance activities and evaluation of the economic impacts of weather events on production and operations.

For farmers and agribusinesses, the objective is to support better planning of operations, reduction of unnecessary treatments and irrigation activities, optimisation of resource use, reduction of operational costs, improved management of adverse weather events and stronger economic performance.

For insurers and risk-management organisations, potential applications include improved agricultural risk assessment, identification of exposed areas and operations, support for underwriting activities, risk management processes and sustainability reporting requirements.

The project builds on DM-AirTech's existing expertise in weather intelligence, atmospheric modelling and operational forecasting for drone operations, Advanced Air Mobility and other weather-sensitive sectors.

A dedicated research activity focused on agricultural applications has already been conducted, including stakeholder interviews and engagement with agricultural and insurance-sector organisations. The project has progressed beyond the initial concept stage through the definition of use cases, impact indicators and operational requirements for Climate Intelligence applications in agriculture.

Current activities focus on pilot validation, field testing and collaboration with agricultural organisations, agribusinesses, insurers, reinsurers, drone operators and technology partners interested in evaluating Climate Intelligence solutions in real operational environments.

About DM-AirTech

DM-AirTech is a deep tech company that leverages computational physics to generate hyperlocal weather reconstructions tailored for the Advanced Air Mobility sector. By utilizing proprietary micro-weather reconstruction technology, the firm models small-scale environmental effects, such as the impact of urban structures on local wind speeds and turbulence. Its core service offerings, delivered via API or SaaS interface, include products branded as VertiPlace, VertiMonitor, and WeTwin. These solutions are designed to process complex meteorological data and translate it into actionable intelligence for the aviation and aerospace industries.

The company's technology is primarily utilized by operators of drones and air taxis to support safe flight planning and operational decision-making. By integrating weather and climate risk analysis into business processes, DM-AirTech helps clients improve operational uptime, reduce costs, and enhance safety through more accurate go/no-go assessments. Beyond aviation, the firm is also expanding its applications into adjacent fields, including energy and utilities, where high-precision environmental data is required for operational performance in complex environments. Headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, the company was established in 2021 to address the critical need for granular weather data in low-altitude operations.
