Research-driven solution to improve indoor hydroponic systems by developing species-specific nutrition plans. Aims to enhance plant quality, foliage yield, root health, and overall productivity while maximizing cost-benefit efficiency in LED-assisted growing environments.
This solution addresses a critical challenge in indoor hydroponic farming: the lack of an adequate nutritional management plan that supports healthy plant growth without compromising root systems. By characterizing the full indoor production environment—including substrates, structural supports, LED lighting, humidity, water management, and current productivity—and then experimenting with tailored fertilization schemes for each vegetable variety, the approach delivers a customized Indoor Hydroponic Nutrition Plan. The result is improved foliage quality (color, thickness, leaf size, and count), stronger root development, and higher overall system efficiency and profitability.
Key features:
The solution is currently at an early-to-mid research and validation stage. Initial tests with standard fertigation fertilizers have been completed, but an adequate management plan has not yet been defined. Future work involves systematic experimentation with multiple fertilization schemes for each planted variety, followed by profitability analysis. The technology is ready for pilot implementation within the existing indoor hydroponic production system.
