This novel machine is designed to treat ink‑contaminated wastewater and convert it into two valuable outputs: a dry solid cake of concentrated ink residues and clean water that can be reused for washing printing machines (e.g., in the flexographic industry), By enabling on‑site water recycling, the system reduces disposal volumes, lowers operational costs, and significantly decreases freshwater demand. The technology matters because traditional treatments often rely on energy‑intensive thermal processes or heavy chemical dosing. In contrast, our solution operates entirely through mechanical separation steps, using a sequence of multifilters and advanced membranes. With no thermal components, total energy consumption remains exceptionally low providing both environmental and economic benefits. The multifilter stage captures the larger flocs, while the membrane unit performs final polishing to ensure that the permeate is clean enough for immediate reuse. The resulting solid cake is compact, stable, and significantly reduced in volume compared to untreated sludge. The system is compact and fully automated. Sensors continuously control flow, pressure, turbidity, and water quality for reuse, minimizing operator intervention and ensuring consistent quality. Proof to date includes successful real-scale trials in industrial printing environments, demonstrating robust production of reusable water. The technology has strong potential to support circular‑water systems across printing and packaging facilities worldwide.
Penso Green SRL is a company focused on providing water management solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises. The firm specializes in helping businesses transition to a circular water economy, particularly by treating industrial effluents. Through a partnership with Landson Advanced Ceramics A/S, the company utilizes silicon carbide ceramic membranes for microfiltration and ultrafiltration applications. These filtration tools are designed for diverse uses, including the treatment of oily wastewater from the metal industry, pre-treatment for reverse osmosis or nanofiltration, and facilitating zero liquid discharge in industrial facilities. By offering these tailored technological solutions, Penso Green supports industrial clients in managing water volumes and embracing sustainable environmental practices.
