This solution is designed to streamline the preparation of complex matrices such as meat, dairy, and plant samples by automating the critical steps of bacteria analysis. It enhances efficiency, reduces hands-on effort, and improves reliability in detecting low-abundance targets in complex food samples.
Technical specifications
The platform employs a matrix-specific enzymatic digestion to release bacteria, followed by sequential concentration through centrifugation and filtration. Immunomagnetic separation enriches the target bacteria, while bead beating lyses cell walls. DNA capture is optimized with magnetic beads, ensuring the exclusion of inhibitors. The Ensemble automation system features a user-friendly interface with programmable liquid handling and robotics, capable of processing 4-8 samples in under 3 hours.
Technology readiness level
Currently at Technology Readiness Level 3, the platform is in the early stages of development with ongoing optimization and validation phases. The initial prototype is expected within 3 months, with further alpha and beta developments planned to refine the system.
