Overview

Laser Universal LLC presents a LIBS (Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) solution for real-time zinc detection in steel recycling processes. The technology is intended to identify zinc-coated scrap to help prevent contamination in downstream processing. With rapid, non-contact elemental analysis, LIBS is positioned as an improvement over handheld XRF methods, offering over 95% accuracy for sorting zinc-coated scrap.

Technical specifications

The LIBS system operates by inducing plasma with a laser and performing spectral analysis of elemental composition, including zinc detection at specific wavelengths (213.9 nm, 330.3 nm). Key features include:
