Evince’s hydrogen storage technology offers a long-duration energy storage (LDES) solution that converts excess electricity—especially from renewable sources—into hydrogen that can be stored for extended periods and later converted back into power. Unlike conventional batteries, which are limited to short discharge times, hydrogen enables energy storage for hours to days, making it well-suited for grid resilience, peak shaving, and backup power. Elyte Energy’s patented storage approach is designed to be safer, more scalable, and adaptable across applications ranging from portable power units to stationary and microgrid-scale systems, aligning with Evince’s mission to advance applied energy innovation and STEM-driven commercialization.

A pilot study would demonstrate this technology in a real-world setting by integrating renewable generation, hydrogen storage, and power conversion to support local loads or grid services. Proof to date includes Elyte Energy’s patented technology and early-stage prototypes that validate the core storage and power concept, alongside growing global recognition of hydrogen as a viable LDES pathway. Next steps include defining the pilot use case, selecting a site, integrating electrolyzer and fuel-cell components, and collecting performance data to evaluate cost, reliability, and emissions benefits, laying the groundwork for future scale-up and broader deployment.
