Company

A solvent-free catalytic process for converting polyethylene into hydrocarbon waxes using an acid catalyst. The process is efficient, scalable, and environmentally friendly, producing waxes in the C18–C30 range without metal catalysts.

Overview

This innovative process offers a solvent-free catalytic solution for converting polyethylene (PE) into hydrocarbon waxes using a non-metallic acid catalyst. Operating at moderate temperatures around 250°C, this method efficiently depolymerizes PE in the melt phase to produce waxes primarily in the C18–C30 range. This process stands out for its scalability and minimal environmental impact, as it does not require metal catalysts or solvents. The resultant olefinic intermediates can also be further processed, allowing for customization of the waxes' properties.
