Overview

This innovative solution involves the development of vitamin tablets using microencapsulation techniques with pH-sensitive Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) polymers. The primary objective is to enhance the consumer experience by minimizing common gastrointestinal side effects, such as stomachache, nausea, and occasional vomiting, often associated with vitamin intake. By ensuring the vitamins are not released in the gastric environment but rather in the intestinal tract, the formulation aims to improve user comfort and compliance.

Technical specifications

The tablets are designed with a coating of GRAS polymers that remain stable in the acidic environment of the stomach but dissolve once they reach the more neutral pH of the intestines. This targeted release mechanism ensures that the vitamins are absorbed where they can be most effective, reducing the likelihood of irritation and discomfort. The development process includes formulation, manufacturing, and in vitro dissolution testing, with a comprehensive clinical study planned to confirm the benefits.
