Advanced fabric treatment using metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) to filter particulates, capture chemicals and VOCs, reduce odors, and provide antibacterial protection. Enables multifunctional, reusable air filtration with up to 90% particle capture.
Hava Technologies has developed a novel process for rapidly applying metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) onto fabrics, creating a multifunctional filtration material capable of removing particulates, chemicals, odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and pathogens from air. MOFs are highly crystalline, porous materials formed by linking metal ion clusters with organic ligands. When applied to fabrics, they create filters that use electrostatic surface potential to attract and capture particles while the porous structure adsorbs small molecules and chemicals. The technology has demonstrated up to 90% particle filtration efficiency and offers a reusable, washable solution for air purification.
Key features:
The technology has been validated through peer-reviewed publications and filed patents, with supporting data on filtration performance and MOF-fabric composites. Current efforts focus on creating multifunctional MOF fabrics for HEPA filter applications, scaling production through roll-to-roll coating processes, and confirming reusability after washing. The team is advancing toward integration with air circulation systems for whole-room air treatment.
