Company

Innovative PET packaging solutions for bleach products using zeolite-enhanced resin, EVOH multilayer liners, and oxygen scavenger additives to improve durability, reduce oxidation, and maintain recyclability. Scalable, FDA-safe, and ready for further validation.

Overview

Our multi-approach solution offers enhanced PET packaging specifically designed for bleach products. By integrating zeolite-enhanced resin, EVOH multilayer liners, and oxygen scavenger additives, we address the challenges of hypochlorite-induced degradation in PET. This innovation ensures that PET maintains its clarity and lightweight characteristics while enhancing its resistance to chemical penetration and oxidation. The approaches are scalable, FDA-approved, and align with APR recyclability standards.

Technical specifications
  • Zeolite-Enhanced Resin: Incorporates 2-5% nano-clinoptilolite zeolite into PET, utilizing its pore structure to adsorb and neutralize hypochlorite ions, thereby reducing oxidation.
  • EVOH Multilayer Liner: A 5-10 µm EVOH inner layer is co-extruded within PET layers using injection stretch blow-molding; this configuration blocks over 95% of chemical penetration.
  • Oxygen Scavenger Additive: Integrated at 1-3% into PET resin to significantly reduce oxidants and degradation by 80-90%. All solutions maintain the clarity and lightweight properties of PET, allow for post-consumer recycled content, and ensure recyclability with less than 5% non-PET content.
Technology readiness level

Currently at TRL 4, the technology is in the validation phase, with ongoing efforts to pilot various prototypes and conduct testing to ensure scalability and performance. The solution is poised for further development with planned plant-scale trials and commercial rollout preparation stages.
