University

A novel composition of Nav blockers has been developed for neuropathic pain relief through topical or oral administration. This solution leverages the role of multiple Navs in pain pathways and combines them for enhanced efficacy. Currently in preclinical development.

Overview

Neuropathic pain is a challenging condition often resistant to conventional therapies. This innovative solution targets Nav (voltage-gated sodium channels) blockers for the relief of neuropathic pain through topical or oral administration. The unique composition leverages the non-uniform expression of Navs in DRG neurons, allowing for a targeted approach that enhances pain relief efficacy by blocking multiple Navs simultaneously.

Technical specifications

Key features:

  • Multi-Nav blocker composition: Targets multiple Nav channels to improve pain relief efficacy.
  • Administration methods: Designed for both topical and oral use, offering flexibility in treatment.
  • Preclinical validation: Demonstrated efficacy in relieving neuropathic pain in mouse models through topical application.
Technology readiness level

The technology is currently at TRL 4, with ongoing preclinical studies. A CRO company is set to assist in applying for Investigational New Drug (IND) status in the USA and China, marking significant progress towards clinical trials.
