What it is: Sentinel is an environmental monitoring platform combining modular IoT sensor hardware (the NODE) with a cloud-based Intelligence layer, purpose-built for regulatory compliance in food retail, healthcare, cold-chain, and industrial environments. NetNeural is also developing an explainable AI upgrade to that layer, licensing Genetic Fuzzy Logic technology from the University of Cincinnati.
Why it matters: Manual monitoring and threshold-based alert systems miss gradual drift events and generate false alarms, creating both compliance risk and operational cost. Under FDA FSMA 204, covered entities must produce audit-ready traceability records on demand, a standard manual logs cannot meet. How it works: The NODE is a modular sensor with a 10-year battery life that snaps together like building blocks, with expansion modules for humidity, light, people sensing, WiFi, and high-temperature thermocouple. BLE and cellular variants (Nordic nRF9151 chipset) support any deployment environment. Sentinel's software layer turns raw sensor readings into operational intelligence, supporting FSMA 204 compliance reporting, automated alerting, and multi-site management today.
Proof to date: Sentinel launched publicly in August 2026, coinciding with NetNeural's two-year anniversary. The platform has been actively deployed at a Cincinnati cold-chain business since February 2026, accumulating over 437,000 real-world sensor readings. NetNeural holds a patent-pending modular sensor architecture and has signed Letters of Intent with two channel partners.
Next steps: NetNeural is seeking hardware manufacturing partners, embedded firmware collaborators, and companies with field-deployed IoT needs in harsh or remote environments, including active interest in mining and industrial applications.
