SylvitaTech introduces a novel non-oxidative hair coloration platform utilizing biomimetic synthetic melanin and polymer-mediated color anchoring. This water-based solution offers durable color retention and improved hair strength without harsh chemicals.

Overview

SylvitaTech has developed an innovative hair coloration system that utilizes biomimetic pigments and bio-based binders to deliver non-oxidative, water-based color solutions. This technology offers a safer alternative to traditional hair dyes by avoiding harsh chemicals like peroxide and ammonia. The coloration process takes approximately 30 minutes and provides durable color retention beyond 12 shampoo cycles while maintaining or enhancing the hair's strength and integrity. The versatile chemistry supports a wide spectrum of natural and fashion shades.

Technical specifications

Key features:

  • Biomimetic synthetic melanin technology: Uses a safe hair-binding component that forms durable bonds with hair fibers, reinforcing them.
  • Polymer-mediated color anchoring: Employs natural, food-grade, or safe synthetic pigments grafted to an engineered polymer for durable attachment to the hair.
  • Chemical-free process: Avoids peroxide, ammonia, PPD, and aromatic amines, ensuring a safer user experience.
  • Enhanced hair quality: Improves fiber properties and cosmetic benefits such as shine and softness.
  • Flexible pigment accommodation: Supports a broad range of pigments for both natural and vibrant fashion shades.
Technology readiness level

The technology is at TRL 4, with successful lab-scale validation and ongoing efforts to optimize performance, expand the color palette, and scale-up production. Future plans include external characterization, formulation refinement, and commercial implementation in collaboration with manufacturing partners.
