We already have preclinical validation supporting the platform. In vitro, we've demonstrated antiviral activity against multiple viruses. We see moderate activity against MERS coronavirus, Influenza A H1N1, and Zika, and potent activity against Measles, Vaccinia virus, VSV, Parainfluenza-3, Reovirus, COVID-19, HIV, and HCMV. Equally important, we observe no cytotoxicity in tested cell lines at effective concentrations. We also conducted oral pharmacokinetic studies in mice. Following a single oral dose, we achieved a C-max of approximately ten micromolar, with a T-max of about thirty minutes and a half-life of roughly one-point-six hours. These data indicate rapid absorption and drug-like exposure, supporting further optimization and in-vivo efficacy studies.

About Antirna Incorporated

Antirna Incorporated is a Burlington, Massachusetts-based biotechnology startup focused on the discovery and development of small-molecule antiviral therapeutics. The company specializes in creating broad-spectrum agents that target S-adenosylmethionine (SAM)-dependent methylation reactions involved in viral mRNA capping. By interfering with these mechanisms, which coronaviruses use to evade host innate immune detection, Antirna aims to develop treatments for various respiratory viruses, with an initial emphasis on addressing COVID-19 through carbocyclic nucleoside-based candidates.

The organization leverages expertise in virology, virus culture, and molecular optimization to advance its therapeutic pipeline. Antirna has been recognized in industry forums, including a presentation at the 2021 BARDA Industry Day, where it showcased its research into carbocyclic nucleosides as potential broad-spectrum antivirals. As a small biotech entity, the company operates within the broader landscape of medical countermeasure research, focusing on disruptive innovations to tackle antiviral resistance and enhance pandemic preparedness.
