The DIET2CoPe project evaluates two food supplements rich in psychoactive molecules, vitamins, and minerals to improve cognitive performance in young adults, addressing nutritional deficits linked to unhealthy dietary habits.
The DIET2CoPe project focuses on evaluating the impact of two innovative food supplements designed to enhance cognitive performance in young adults. Addressing widespread nutritional deficits, these supplements are formulated with psychoactive molecules, essential vitamins, and minerals. The project targets young adults, a group increasingly affected by both under-nutrition and over-nutrition, leading to cognitive and mood impairments. The supplements aim to mitigate these effects by providing a synergistic blend that supports cognitive health.

This project is at Technology Readiness Level 5. The supplements have been initially validated, and a pilot study is underway to further assess their impact on cognitive performance in a controlled environment.
The University of Minho is a comprehensive public research university spanning campuses in Braga and Guimarães, serving a large student community in one of Portugal’s most industrialized regions. Industry engagement is enabled by co‑located campus labs, proximity to the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory in Braga, and a science and technology park in Guimarães that hosts startups and R&D units. Clinical translation is organized through an academic clinical center that links the university with the regional hospital network to support regulated trials and real‑world studies. Research is supported by competitive European and national funding, including the European Commission and Portugal’s Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). TecMinho, the university’s technology transfer interface, provides IP management, licensing, and venture support for industry partners.
