What it is Genspeed Biotech is an Austrian IVD company with a rapid immunoassay platform that delivers lab-grade ELISA results at the point of need. It closes the gap between lateral flow strips (fast, but limited in sensitivity and quantification) and lab ELISA (accurate, but needs a lab, trained staff and time). We partner with OEMs to develop and manufacture custom tests on our platform – ideally one strong partner per application field.
Why it matters Many decisions in diagnostics, pharma production, food and environmental safety still wait for central lab results, while lateral flow is often not precise enough. Our platform brings lab-ELISA quality to where decisions are made: the clinic, the production line or the field – in 20min, with minimal hands-on time (<3min). Tests can be developed under IVDR from day one, a key advantage in regulated markets.
How it works Supports all ELISA formats, not only sandwich – including printed antigens to detect antibodies in a sample (serology) Single markers and multi-marker panels We source antibodies and reagents from multiple suppliers, so partners don't have to Clear path to market: 3-month feasibility study, assay development, verification and validation (IVDR or RUO/QC), scaled manufacturing by Genspeed
Proof to date IVDR-certified Vitamin D test on the market Commercial TBE (FSME) antibody test and PerioPOC, a chairside periodontitis test QC application in vaccine production: host cell protein (HCP) residue testing, with development work for CEPI Active OEM partnerships in hematology, orthopedics and cell & gene therapy QC Custom screening assay for an environmental water-safety application
What we're looking for OEM and co-development partners who want to bring a lab-grade immunoassay to the point of need, especially in veterinary diagnostics, nutrition and longevity markers, food safety, environmental safety and pharma/bioprocess QC. Have a validated biomarker or antibody and need a fast, regulatory-ready route to a deployable test? We start with a 3-month feasibility study.
Genspeed Biotech GmbH is an Austrian medical technology company that specializes in rapid diagnostic testing solutions. Founded in 2016 as a spin-off from Greiner Bio-One, the company developed the proprietary GENSPEED technology platform, which integrates microfluidics, miniaturized optoelectronics, and automation. This system allows for the simultaneous detection of up to eight parameters—including nucleic acids and proteins—from a single patient sample. The platform is designed to deliver laboratory-grade sensitivity and quantitative results at the point-of-care within minutes, providing a versatile solution for both clinical and industrial diagnostic applications.
The company serves as an OEM partner for test manufacturers looking to transition to rapid, multiplexed testing or meet evolving regulatory requirements. By offering an adaptable platform, Genspeed enables partners to develop or migrate assays for various medical and industrial use cases. Their own IVD-CE certified product portfolio includes tests for periodontal pathogens, hospital-acquired infections, and Vitamin D. Through these solutions, Genspeed aims to provide fast, actionable results that support clinical decision-making and improve diagnostic accessibility in decentralized settings.
