Methodology & Metrics: Parostok is a TRL-9 chemical-free technology that utilizes precise microwave (MW) irradiation to activate seed metabolism at the cellular level prior to sowing. Unlike genetic modification or chemical coating, our biophysical stimulation triggers internal energy reserves, resulting in a verified 2-4x increase in germination energy and robust root system development.
Extensive field trials with the Institute of Agro-Industrial Production (Ukraine) on Winter Rapeseed (var. Tysminetsky) demonstrated a yield increase of up to 51% (+5,600 kg/ha in peak trials) and, crucially, accelerated phenological development. Treated crops ripen 10–14 days earlier, allowing farmers to harvest before late-season heat stress or drought affects the pod filling, effectively mitigating climate risks. Validation & Next Steps: Our efficacy database covers over 58 crops and 128 hybrids, consistently showing yield boosts of 18–60% across oilseeds (sunflower, soy, rapeseed) and grains. The technology is fully validated in relevant environments (production-ready) and is compatible with seeds previously treated with fungicides. We are seeking partners for commercial-scale pilots (200+ hectares) or B2B licensing agreements with seed producers who aim to offer "climate-resilient" seeds. We provide the processing hardware and proprietary irradiation protocols tailored to specific genotypes to guarantee reproducible results in diverse climatic zones.
Parostok is a Ukrainian agri-science venture that spun out of agricultural research and innovation programs in Ukraine. Despite the challenging context, the team has pioneered this seed treatment technology and gained recognition through innovation accelerators and local agricultural authorities.
