A novel PCF-cavity RFBG Fabry-Perot resonator designed for simultaneous pressure and temperature measurement in extreme conditions, featuring high thermal stability and enhanced pressure sensitivity.
The PCF-cavity Regenerated Fiber Bragg Grating (RFBG) Fabry-Perot resonator is an innovative solution designed for precise, simultaneous measurement of pressure and temperature in high-temperature environments. This technology leverages the enhanced pressure sensitivity of Photonic Crystal Fibers (PCF) and the thermal stability of Regenerated Fiber Bragg Gratings (RFBG). By analyzing shifts in resonance and band-edge wavelengths, this resonator enables discriminative measurement, providing robust, real-time monitoring in extreme conditions.
This technology is at TRL 4, having been validated in a laboratory setting under conditions ranging from 40 to 175 bar and temperatures up to 900°C. It is poised for further industrial trials to confirm its efficacy in real-world applications.
