Innovative dentifrice for smokers using laccase enzyme, P11-4 peptide, and nanochitosan to remove tobacco stains without peroxide or abrasives, enhancing oral health and enamel protection.
This advanced dentifrice is specifically designed for smokers, offering a peroxide-free solution to effectively remove tobacco stains. Utilizing the natural oxidative power of fungal laccase, it selectively degrades phenolic compounds from smoke pigments without harming enamel. The inclusion of the P11-4 peptide promotes enamel remineralization by forming a self-assembling matrix, while functionalized nanochitosan provides antimicrobial and anti-biofilm benefits, comprehensively addressing the oral health needs of smokers.
This technology is at TRL 2, indicating that the concept has been formulated and initial experimental evaluations are planned to demonstrate its feasibility.
