This product is a 100% plastic-free, sustainable high-barrier thermal seal paper, developed as a drop-in replacement for traditional multi-layer plastic and aluminum foil composite packaging. It is designed to address the critical industry challenge of balancing high barrier performance with circular economy requirements, particularly for food packaging applications such as nuts, coffee, chocolate, and pan masala.

The paper features a multi-layer, eco-friendly barrier system: a base layer of 62gsm FSC-certified UPM paper, coated with 100% natural biomass polymers to seal surface porosity, a nanocellulose layer for oxygen resistance, and a vacuum-deposited aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) layer as the primary moisture barrier. This construction achieves exceptional performance metrics: Oxygen Transmission Rate (ORT) < 1 cm³/(m²·24h·atm) at 23°C/0%RH and Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR) < 3 g/(m²·24h) at 38°C/90%RH, meeting or exceeding the performance of conventional non-recyclable barrier packaging. Currently validated with multiple food brand partners, the material has demonstrated compatibility with standard converting, printing, and heat-sealing equipment, requiring no major line modifications. Next steps include expanding third-party certifications (e.g., BPI, OK Compost) and scaling production to meet growing market demand for compliant, sustainable packaging solutions globally.
