This is the answer to Restless Leg Syndrome. B1 and an Iron+ B- Complex. Taken 1x nightly.
Easy to dismiss given its simplicity, this combination has been shown to be effective in the treatment of both Primary and Secondary RLS.
I began looking into B1 after reading a study about benfotiamine’s effect on an associated condition, peripheral neuropathy.
Given that B1 is known to be crucial for both nerve health as well as the body’s production and regulation of dopamine, it is a natural conclusion that it could aid in treating this condition.
Given a lack of large-scale clinical trials, B1 is not yet supported by The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Furthermore, Baylor Medicine states that ‘no natural or over-the-counter medication consistently improve RLS.’ However, my research over the last two years indicates the opposite. As does the anecdotal evidence.
A simple search will reveal many article and studies on the effectiveness of B1. Comments on YouTube videos, Reddit threads, and RLS forums all provide support for the idea. This solution is not new. It is just not well-known.
Pharmaceutical drugs to treat RLS have been problematic and OTC companies are making millions selling products which offer no relief at all.
This condition affects 8% of the population with 2% of the population suffering from severe symptoms. It affects over 1.3 million children between the ages of 8-17.
