Alpha-AQL

Semiconductor device characterization, compact modeling and lab training, including cryogenic CMOS

Consulting service
Company

Device physics expertise for teams developing, qualifying or modeling transistors and electronic components, from measurement setup to model extraction, including operation at cryogenic temperatures for quantum computing and space electronics.

Background Four years at CEA-Leti in the Modelling & Simulation Lab, working with the quantum computing project team. I developed and validated physics-based compact models of FDSOI MOSFETs down to deep cryogenic temperatures, using Poisson-Schrödinger simulation, electrostatics and transport modeling, and machine-learning-assisted preparation of measured data. Results are published in Solid-State Electronics. Hands-on experience with Keysight B1500A, B1530A WGFMU, cryogenic probe stations and cleanroom nanofabrication (lithography, deposition, annealing).

What I offer

  • Characterization planning and data analysis for diodes, BJTs and MOSFETs (I-V, C-V, pulsed measurements).
  • Parameter extraction, and development or independent review of compact models.
  • Interpretation of anomalous device behavior: subthreshold swing saturation, threshold voltage shifts, low-temperature transport effects.
  • On-site or remote training of lab teams on parameter analyzers and Keysight EasyEXPERT, most recently a 5-day course for a university lab.

How it is delivered Fixed-scope studies of 1 to 4 weeks, or training courses tailored to your instruments and devices. Remote by default, on site when needed, in English or French. Work can be done under NDA.

Best fit for Semiconductor and quantum hardware teams, university and industrial characterization labs, and startups designing cryo-CMOS or low-power electronics that need an experienced device physicist without a full-time hire.
