Many skin diseases have their origin in inflammatory response. Our group has been studying the role of the enzyme NEU1 in inflammation, and have developed clear mechanistic data supporting its influence on T cell activation. Using genetic knock-outs (murine) and ex vivo models (human) we have confirmed that genetic or pharmacological inhibition of NEU1 blocks disease severity in double blinded studies. We are seeking partners to develop these candidates for pre-clinical or IND.
