An autonomous robotic platform integrating AI and multi-modal weed control to revolutionize lawn care. It offers cost, labor, and environmental benefits by automating weed management and lawn maintenance.
The Smart Autonomous Environment Aware Weed Neutralizer is an innovative solution designed to transform lawn care by integrating artificial intelligence with autonomous robotics. This platform offers a comprehensive approach to weed management by combining biological, chemical, and mechanical elimination methods. By utilizing real-time and forecasted weather inputs alongside artificial vision intelligence, this system effectively identifies and eliminates weeds, ensuring long-term lawn health with minimal human intervention. It promises to reduce labor costs and environmental impact compared to traditional methods.
The system is built on a modified electric lawn mower chassis equipped with advanced sensors such as RGB and depth cameras, GPS, and LiDAR for environmental navigation. Actuators including sprayers, mechanical weeders, fertilizer spreaders, and seed drills are incorporated to perform various lawn care tasks. The control unit, powered by state-of-the-art AI models, distinguishes between healthy grass and weeds, enabling targeted interventions. The platform is designed for autonomous operation, including recharging via solar or grid power, and offers remote user interaction through a dedicated app.
Currently, the Smart Autonomous Environment Aware Weed Neutralizer is at Technology Readiness Level 2. The concept has been formulated, and plans are in place for further development and validation, including acquiring a configurable electric lawn mower chassis, integrating various sensors and actuators, and developing AI software to enhance operational capabilities.
