Company

Innovative sprayable formulations using yeast particles for co-encapsulation of active agents, offering sustained release and synergistic infection control. Ideal for anti-parasitic and wound healing applications.

Overview

GlucaDel has developed a cutting-edge technology using yeast particles (YPs) for the co-encapsulation of active agents. This innovation leverages YPs' properties to create sprayable formulations that provide sustained release of therapeutic actives. These formulations are particularly effective for anti-parasitic and wound healing applications, utilizing YPs' natural beta glucans for immunomodulatory benefits.

Technical specifications
  • Yeast Particles (YPs): Hollow 3-4 micron porous microspheres primarily composed of beta 1,3/beta1,6 glucans, offering payload sustained release and immunomodulatory wound healing properties.
  • Co-encapsulation: Efficient encapsulation (>90%) of hydrophobic actives, including doramectin, moxidectin, and fipronil, with antimicrobial monoterpenoids and hydrophobic dyes.
  • Formulations: Available as liquid concentrates or spray-dried powders, designed for solubilization of actives and effective loading in 2-, 3-, and 4-way combinations.
  • Applications: Broad anti-infective actions against bacterial, fungal, and worm infections, with potential to combat drug-resistant parasites.
Technology readiness level

Currently at Technology Readiness Level 4, this technology has been validated in laboratory settings and is progressing towards scale-up and in vivo testing. Further development involves solubilization conditions for actives and formulation scaling for bioactivity testing.
