University

This innovative approach utilizes a stochastic mechanical model to incorporate PETG into PET bottles, enhancing their mechanical performance and reducing weight while maintaining structural integrity and extending shelf life.

Overview

This cutting-edge research initiative focuses on optimizing the design of PET bottles by incorporating PETG, a material known for its superior impact resistance and stress cracking properties. By introducing PETG into PET bottles, the project aims to enhance mechanical performance, particularly increasing the top load capacity and improving the oxygen barrier for extended shelf life. This optimization allows for a reduction in bottle weight without compromising structural integrity, thanks to advanced simulations and modeling techniques.
