Dextran-based delivery system designed to stabilize amino acids against thermal stress and acidic conditions, enabling controlled release and improved bioavailability for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and food applications.
A dextran-based formulation platform that stabilizes amino acids against thermal degradation and acidic environments while enabling controlled, pH-dependent release. The technology uses dextran, a biocompatible polysaccharide, as a protective matrix that entraps amino acids and limits their molecular mobility, shielding them from degrading conditions. This approach addresses key challenges in amino acid stability for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetic, and food applications where exposure to heat or low pH can compromise product quality and shelf life.
Key features:
This research is at an early-stage development phase (TRL 2-3). The hypothesis is supported by established knowledge of dextran's matrix-forming properties, but experimental validation is still in progress. Planned validation includes formulation design, thermal and acidic stability testing, encapsulation efficiency and loading capacity determination, FTIR interaction studies, and bioactivity assays. The technology is positioned for collaborative research partnerships to advance proof-of-concept studies and characterize formulation performance under varied conditions.
