Ubin: patented automatic paper-bag dispenser and waste-bin platform

uBIN is a patented smart waste-bin platform with an integrated automatic paper-bag dispensing and replacement system for commercial restrooms and other high-service facilities.

The technology addresses an overlooked facility-services problem: replacing waste-bin liners is still largely manual. Workers often need to locate a liner roll, separate a bag, open it, reach into the bin, and install it by hand. This adds unnecessary servicing steps, creates inconsistency, and can negatively affect labor efficiency and worker experience.

uBIN is designed to simplify this workflow through an integrated dispenser-and-bin platform. Paper bags are stored within the unit and made available for the next replacement cycle, reducing manual handling and supporting a more efficient, consistent servicing process. The platform is designed to support paper-based consumables, hygiene-focused facility design, sustainability objectives, and recurring refill opportunities.

Potential applications include healthcare facilities, offices, airports, schools, hospitality, retail, stadiums, institutional buildings, and other environments with frequent restroom or facility-service needs.

The technology is supported by two issued U.S. utility patents and one pending patent application. A fully functional prototype has been developed and demonstrated in a relevant environment for its intended waste-servicing workflow.

We are seeking strategic partners with capabilities in commercial restroom products, tissue and paper consumables, dispenser systems, sanitation equipment, smart-facility technology, product engineering, manufacturing, institutional distribution, or facility-services channels.

The next stage is partner evaluation, engineering refinement, pilot validation, manufacturing development, and commercialization. Potential structures include licensing, co-development, manufacturing, pilot programs, strategic distribution, or acquisition.
