VOC eNose mesh network for precision agriculture

Grant collaboration opportunity
Company

We are seeking funding and strategic partners to scale our VOC Mesh AgriTech platform from pilot deployments to commercial field operations across multiple crop types and geographies. We are open to joint grant applications (Horizon Europe Cluster 6, EIT Food, national agri-innovation calls), bilateral industry collaborations, and co-development agreements.

What we bring:

A fully operational IoT platform: custom ESP32 eNose hardware, MQTT mesh networking, calibrated MEMS gas sensor arrays, and a cloud-based analytics dashboard already running at app.lifeandsemiconductors.com Five trained ML models (crop stress, bloom prediction, pest classification, fire/smoke risk, carbon sequestration) processing 50 VOC biomarkers through a 128-dimensional feature pipeline with ONNX Runtime inference Proprietary temperature-compensated calibration equations for low-cost gas sensors in outdoor agricultural environments Multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure ready to onboard new sites with row-level data isolation, real-time alerts, and monthly analytical reports A team with expertise in semiconductor sensor design, embedded systems LORA mesh, machine learning, and full-stack development What we're looking for in a partner:

Agronomic domain expertise: plant physiologists, viticulturists, or crop scientists who can validate VOC-stress correlations in controlled field trials and co-author peer-reviewed publications Field trial sites: farms, cooperatives, vineyards, orchards, forestry operations, or agricultural research stations willing to host sensor deployments across diverse crops and climatic conditions Funding and commercialization: grant co-applicants with experience in EU or national funding programs, or industry partners interested in licensing, OEM integration, or distribution agreements Complementary technology: teams working on satellite remote sensing (Sentinel-2, Landsat), soil analytics, drone-based imaging, or precision irrigation that could integrate with our airborne VOC layer for multi-modal crop intelligence

About LIFE AND SEMICONDUCTORS

LASEM (Life and Semiconductors) is a deep-tech company that develops advanced AI-driven platforms at the intersection of medicine and photonic neuromorphic engineering. Their core technology, the Photofermionic E-Nose, functions as an artificial nose capable of detecting diseases by analyzing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in human breath. By integrating photonic neuromorphic chipsets—designed to act as artificial brains with laser synapses—with machine learning models trained on clinical data, the company provides a non-invasive, medically validated diagnostic tool. Beyond medical diagnostics, the platform's sensing capabilities are applied to precision agriculture and food industry quality control, such as monitoring fruit ripeness.

This technology addresses significant gaps in clinical monitoring by offering a non-invasive, real-time method for biomarker assessment, which traditional clinical studies often struggle to capture due to the lack of continuous data. LASEM’s solutions are designed to enhance diagnostic precision and quality control across healthcare, research, and industrial sectors. The company collaborates with clinical institutions to validate its platforms, leveraging over 20 years of research in metabolomics. Their broader work encompasses a focus on advanced medicine, including genomics, oncology, and bioinformatics, with active projects in immunogenomics and infrastructure development for clinical data management.
