Discover the therapeutic potential of fish oil bioactives for wound healing, leveraging their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This research explores unsaturated fatty acids' roles in improving wound contraction and epithelialization.

Overview

This innovative research investigates the wound healing properties of fish oil, highlighting its potential as an alternative therapeutic option. The study focuses on the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of fish oil that contribute to improved wound healing outcomes. By accelerating wound contraction and enhancing epithelialization, fish oil bioactives offer a promising solution for therapeutic applications.

Technical specifications

The core of this research lies in the utilization of unsaturated fatty acids (UFAs) found in fish oil, which are crucial for modulating cell migration, proliferation, and inflammatory marker production. The research involves preparing various fish extracts, performing LC-MS profiling and metabolomic analysis, and correlating chemical profiles with biological activity through multivariate analysis. Additionally, in silico analysis is conducted to identify potential bioactive compounds responsible for the therapeutic effects.

Technology readiness level

Currently, the technology readiness level is at stage 3, with ongoing in vivo testing of different fish extracts and comprehensive chemical and biological profiling to further validate the findings and refine the potential therapeutic applications.
