AMET University

AMET University is a specialized deemed-to-be university and India’s first maritime university, with a focused, research-oriented campus serving more than 3,500 students. Located on the East Coast Road near Chennai, it connects to maritime and industrial networks through a ship-in-campus, full-mission simulators, marine workshops, and specialized research laboratories. Its Industry, Institute Interaction Cell supports partnerships, internships, consultancy, and knowledge exchange, while the Research and Development Cell coordinates sponsored and academic research. National funding has included support from the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Department of Biotechnology, and Science and Engineering Research Board. Incubation and entrepreneurship mechanisms support prototype development and startup formation.
