Formerly an independent Australian grains industry organisation based in Perth, AEGIC combined analytical laboratories, market intelligence, technical solutions and international customer engagement. Its functions were integrated into Grains Australia in 2026, and the AEGIC brand was retired.
AEGIC was a specialist, nationally oriented Australian grains industry organisation—not a university—created to increase value across the grains value chain. Based in Perth, with analytical laboratories in North Ryde and relationships spanning growers, breeders, exporters, processors and overseas customers, it linked technical evidence with real-world market requirements. Its industry-facing model combined market intelligence, customer education, proficiency testing and tailored technical solutions to support decisions around grain quality, classification, processing and market access. Funding came primarily through Grains Australia and the Western Australian Government via DPIRD, with wider research and development investment connected to the Grains Research and Development Corporation. In 2026, AEGIC’s functions were integrated into Grains Australia, which retired the AEGIC name and continues the work under its own banner.
