Birla Institute of Technology

Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, is a large, privately funded deemed-to-be university with a technical and applied-research character, based on a residential main campus near Ranchi and additional campuses elsewhere. Its on-campus Science & Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park provides a formal bridge among research, industry and entrepreneurship, including incubation support for venture development. Institute research policy supports industry collaboration and consultancy, while shared central facilities provide access to research infrastructure. Competitive national research funding includes support from DST-SERB, ISRO, AICTE, ICMR, DRDO and DAE; an institutional intellectual-property policy provides a framework for licensing and commercialization.
