Boise State's industry orientation is built around its position as Idaho's metropolitan research university and its proximity to the state's semiconductor and advanced manufacturing cluster. The Junction connects faculty expertise with entrepreneurs, small-business support resources, and shared manufacturing infrastructure, giving regional industry a direct route into the university. The College of Innovation and Design operates as a flexible delivery vehicle for interdisciplinary programs aligned with workforce needs. Research is organized around three institutional pillars covering technology and innovation, health and wellbeing, and environment and natural resources.
