Austria-based applied research institute in Wiener Neustadt, with sites in Linz and Tulln, a technology-park headquarters, advanced surface-analysis infrastructure, certified testing, and industrial upscaling services. Its COMET model embeds company-led R&D in a science network.
CEST is an Austria-based applied research institute and competence center with about 50 staff across Wiener Neustadt, Linz, and Tulln. Founded jointly by industry and science, it combines company-linked R&D with contract services, including certified measurements, damage analysis, testing, and support for industrial upscaling. Its headquarters in the Technology and Research Park in Wiener Neustadt, along with university partnerships and shared infrastructure with TU Wien, gives corporate R&D teams a practical path from characterization to validation. Research is supported through Austria’s COMET program, managed by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), with public funding from federal ministries and the provinces of Lower and Upper Austria. CEST offers a direct interface for outsourced testing and technology collaboration.
