A Medellín-based nonprofit research center with a specialized diagnostic laboratory, a clinical research unit, agricultural service capabilities, researcher training, and scientific publishing. Its service-led model offers partners practical entry points for clinical and technical collaboration.
The Corporación para Investigaciones Biológicas (CIB) is an independent nonprofit research center in Medellín, founded in 1970, with a focused model combining research, researcher training and specialized services. Its partner-facing infrastructure includes a specialized diagnostic laboratory, a clinical research unit and agricultural services, providing engagement routes through testing, clinical studies and technical services. Continuing education, scientific publishing and academic and public-sector collaborations extend this work beyond the laboratory. Research draws on competitive national science funding, including Colombia’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MinCiencias), alongside project-based partner support. Together, these capabilities offer organizations practical ways to access expertise and engage with an established Colombian research institution.
