ECOSUR is a multi-site Mexican public research center combining scientific research, graduate training, and regional engagement around the needs of the southern frontier. Five units across four southern states provide distributed facilities and local partner access; a Mérida liaison connects ECOSUR with the Yucatán Scientific and Technological Park and other public research centers. Its linkage function supports contracts, technical services, continuing education, knowledge exchange, and technology transfer with public, private, academic, and social-sector organizations. Research is supported through Mexico’s federal public research system, including SECIHTI, competitive calls, and partnership agreements, with processes for intellectual property and transfer.
