Federal University of Technology Owerri

Federal University of Technology Owerri is a public, technology-focused research university established in 1980 and located at Ihiagwa, south of Owerri, Imo State. Its practical, production-oriented mission is reinforced by a dedicated University Linkages and Advancement Directorate that develops collaborations with industry, agencies, and external institutions for training and research. Multidisciplinary research units, specialized laboratories, industrial training pathways, and an Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office provide infrastructure for applied work and commercialization. Research support comes primarily through Nigeria’s TETFund National Research Fund and other national programs, with selected World Bank-backed initiatives adding international support.
