Fraunhofer LBF

Fraunhofer LBF is a mid-sized applied-research institute of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, with around 350 employees and a strongly practice-oriented character. It works directly with OEMs, suppliers, SMEs, universities, and research organizations, assembling interdisciplinary teams around customer needs. Dedicated testing and validation infrastructure supports product development from material selection and component evaluation through system integration and operational monitoring. Funding combines industrial contract research with competitive support from German federal ministries such as BMBF and BMWK, alongside European programs. An innovation and transfer function supports project development, IP management, and commercialization.
