Kyiv-based National Academy of Sciences research institute with specialized cell-biology and genetic-engineering laboratories, radiobiology capabilities, and a national plant germplasm and in-vitro cell-culture collection. Its academy network enables cross-institutional partnerships.
An academy-affiliated public research institute in Kyiv, ICBGE is a specialized life-science organization built around advanced experimental biology and biotechnology. Its laboratory structure supports collaborative work from molecular and cellular experimentation through genetic engineering, biological response studies, and plant biotechnology, while its national collection preserves nearly 5,000 plant species and more than 2,000 in-vitro cell lines for research and development. The institute also convenes international plant-biotechnology meetings and publishes Cytology and Genetics, a peer-facing journal distributed through Springer and addressed to research, agriculture, medicine, education, and industry. Research is supported through the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, and competitive international funding. Its collections and academy network provide a foundation for technology-oriented partnerships.
