Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research

KISR is an independent national applied-research institute with more than 580 researchers and engineers and a practical, client-oriented mandate supporting Kuwait’s development. More than 100 laboratories across nine locations support corporate R&D collaboration, while partnership functions connect researchers with universities, government agencies, and companies. The institute provides scientific and technological consulting for public and private-sector clients in Kuwait, the Gulf, and internationally. Funding comes primarily from Kuwait’s government, commissioned work, and national funders such as the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, with additional international collaboration. Its Commercialization Division supports IP protection, licensing, incubation, and routes to market.
