A private liberal arts research college in South Hadley, Massachusetts, with modern science facilities, an 8,000-square-foot makerspace, ecological field sites, and Five College Consortium access. Its small-campus setting connects to a five-campus research network.
Mount Holyoke College is a highly selective, residential, independent liberal arts research college with about 2,200 undergraduates and a close faculty-mentored learning environment. Through the Five College Consortium, faculty and students share courses, equipment, libraries, and research opportunities with four neighboring colleges and UMass Amherst, extending the resources of a small-college setting. On campus, the Science Center, ecological field sites, and the 8,000-square-foot Fimbel Maker & Innovation Lab support hands-on inquiry and prototyping. Research is funded through competitive awards from the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health, as well as foundations and corporations. An invention and patent policy provides a framework for protecting discoveries made with College resources.
