Egyptian governmental research institute in Cairo with satellite data reception, Earth-observation analytics, aerial survey, small-satellite assembly/testing, and applied training. Its partnership-led model converts space data and technology development into services for public-sector and industry users.
NARSS is a national governmental research institute under Egypt’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, focused on applied space science and Earth observation with a strong public-service orientation. Based in Cairo, it combines satellite and airborne data acquisition with geospatial analysis, engineering development, and training, giving corporate R&D teams routes to technical collaboration, data services, and workforce development. Its infrastructure includes data-reception capabilities and an ISO 8 clean room for assembling and testing small satellites, supporting prototyping and validation with academic and industrial partners. Research is supported through national public research channels, including the Ministry and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, alongside contracted work for ministries, agencies, governorates, and private-sector clients. NARSS also maintains technology-transfer and innovation-support functions to help move research outputs toward commercialization.
