Northshore University HealthSystem

NorthShore University HealthSystem was an Evanston, Illinois–based academic health system with six hospitals, a multispecialty medical group, and a hospital-based research enterprise; it is no longer a standalone institution. Its integration of hospital care, physician practice, informatics, and clinical operations created a direct pathway for evaluating technologies in real-world care, while its University of Chicago teaching affiliation supported collaboration across education, research, and patient care. The NorthShore Research Institute provided dedicated facilities, an Evanston research park, clinical-trials infrastructure, and electronic health data for translational and industry-sponsored studies. Research received competitive support from the National Institutes of Health and other federal programs, alongside industry sponsorship and philanthropy. After a 2022 merger and 2023 rebrand, these capabilities continue within Endeavor Health.
