A public autonomous university in Singapore, SUTD offers multidisciplinary research centres, prototyping facilities, industry-based capstone teams, and technology-transfer support. Its design-led model, developed with MIT, gives companies structured routes to co-create and commercialise.
SUTD is a small, research-intensive public autonomous university with a focused, design-led character and a curriculum oriented toward real-world problem solving. Its campus brings faculty, students, research centres, and advanced facilities together to support rapid prototyping, interdisciplinary collaboration, and direct engagement with corporate partners. Companies can work with cross-functional student teams through the eight-month Capstone programme, pursue research collaborations, and access licensable intellectual property through the Technology Transfer Office. Research is supported by Singapore’s National Research Foundation, Ministry of Defence, and Economic Development Board, as well as competitive public funding.
