Université Bretagne Sud is a public, multidisciplinary research university of nearly 10,000 students across Lorient, Vannes and Pontivy, with a practice-oriented, entrepreneurial character. Its 14 laboratories and technology platforms are embedded in southern Brittany’s industrial and maritime economy, enabling applied research close to companies and public partners. Work-study education, internships, company-linked projects and engineering training create practical routes for industry engagement, while dedicated tools help businesses identify relevant laboratories and platforms. Research is supported by competitive funding from France’s ANR, European programs, and national and regional public schemes. Research-partnership and technology-transfer support helps move university expertise toward innovation and commercialization.
