University of Nebraska Omaha

UNO leads the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center, a DHS Center of Excellence operating under a 10-year federal cooperative agreement with a consortium of over 60 researchers at 26 partner institutions. This designation — one of only about ten active DHS Centers of Excellence — gives government and industry partners a direct channel to applied research and workforce development. UNO also connects to the National Strategic Research Institute at the University of Nebraska, one of 14 DOD-designated University Affiliated Research Centers. The university's location in Omaha positions it for collaboration with federal agencies and the region's data center and financial services industries.
