The University of the Balearic Islands is a mid-sized public research university serving the Balearic Islands, with a broad academic and research mission and a strongly regional, outward-facing character. Its 100-hectare campus in Palma combines scientific-technical services and research facilities, while sites in Menorca and Ibiza-Formentera extend collaboration across the archipelago. The University-Enterprise Foundation and Knowledge Transfer Office support contracted R&D, technical services, research agreements, IP protection, licensing, startup formation, and proof-of-concept activity for companies and public institutions. Research is supported by competitive funding from Spain’s national science and innovation programs, the European Commission, and the Government of the Balearic Islands.
